In order to fit in.

I've sounded pretty preachy lately. I apologize, but here's the thing. If you profess to follow Christ, you don't enjoy the luxury of just behaving like those around you behave in order to fit in. If you profess to follow Christ, you're called to follow the teachings of Christ, regardless of how your circle of peers behave. SC

Once again, I've been asked to choose between God and mammon, and once again it's an easy choice.

My little platform, such as it is, will be a voice for the planet, the poor and the elderly, and all those considered the least among us. I will speak on behalf of truth, justice, mercy, and all God's creatures great and small. I will endeavor each day to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with my God. SC

NOTE TO SELF: Don’t take the bait. Your best hope of having a positive influence on the world, is to achieve and maintain a peaceful spirit, and then radiate that peace to those around you. SC

Here, in a nutshell, is our situation.

The United States of America is the ultimate club, and the most awesome force for freedom and justice the world has ever known. As members and citizens, our list of benefits is fabulous. Foremost among these is liberty and justice for all. As with any club, based on our means, we pay dues or taxes. The American Constitution and America's other historical documents are our bylaws. Anyone who threatens our Constitution threatens us. SC

The MAGA MEGA CHURCH, A worst-case, nightmare scenario.

Following the teachings of Christ, in my humble opinion, is not well represented by many of todays professed Christians, and "doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with your God" as suggested by Micah 6*8, is in no way reflected by MAGA and their leader. The MAGA MEGA CHURCH as envisioned by trump as he calls for abolishing the separation of church and state is what the First Amendment to our Constitution was deliberately and painstakingly designed to prevent. It is a worst-case, nightmare scenario. It is unamerican. It is an abomination. It would not enhance religious freedom; it would end it.
