Romans 5:8
New King James Version
8 “But God
demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.”
My family hates it when I preach, but this is merely an observation. Whether we admit it or not, while we inhabit these cumbersome robes of flesh, we’re each acquainted with sin and fleshly desires. We each have one thing in common: our robes of flesh catch on this, and snag on that, and foil our most sincere attempts at godliness. We all stumble and fall short of the glory of God. Our desires stock and snare us, always on the watch for a moment of weakness and submission to an unwholesome thought. Desire is a fool’s master and every Christian’s cross. Despite our fallen state, God loves us anyway. There is nothing more misguided and unchristian than a professed Christian who believes they are serving Christ by hating the struggling sinners for whom Christ died. SC
