A new birth of freedom

The more that foreign competitors like China, Russia, and other countries that are inclined to become aggressors, are faced with the crippling effects of the climate crisis and their unsustainable environmental policies, the more America looks like a juicy cherry ripe for the plucking. This is not the time to elect senile old men. Now more than ever, America needs the leaders of the future, people who believe in science, support our time-honored institutions, recognize the threat posed by global warming, value our longtime allies and commitments, and are dedicated to the great task before us, "that this great nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom-and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Based on what we currently know, here's what I think. I think, as a result of the prayers of our current President and many others, divine providence has intervened in this election process. I believe over the weeks ahead this country will consider all our options and that during their convention the Democrats will arrive at a winning ticket whose election in November will usher in a time of peace and prosperity unmatched in the history of our great nation. I believe 2025 will be the harbinger of a time of unprecedent achievements, that our government of, by, and for the people will be more than equal to the challenges of the future, and that America will proudly reclaim its time-honored position as a beacon of hope and liberty for the world. Here's what you need to know about the upcoming election.

There is a large segment of society today for whom hatred has become their driving force. They hate gays; they hate those who support women's reproductive rights; they even hate little children with gender issues. Their hatred has become their religion. Of course, it's not a religion; it's a cult, and they're determined to make their cult leader and prophet our President. Beware racism, bigotry, and hatred in all its forms. They are the harbinger of doom.

What is your vision for the future of America?

I envision the America envisioned by our nation's founders, but never achieved, an America where everyone is treated equally regardless of race, sex, gender identification, sexual orientation, national origin, native language, religion, age, disability, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by law. I envision a nation where science is celebrated and where truth and justice are honored and expected from our elected leaders. I foresee a time when environmental protections are made the priority that is essential to the wellbeing of our planet and the survival of our species, and where worker protections ensure a safe and rewarding workplace and a life of dignity and security following retirement. I envision a day when each individual is dedicated to the preservation of the freedom of every other individual, and where a person's right to privacy is recognized and protected by Federal law and not subject to the partisan inclinations of any state. We need to accept that we are different, promote civil discourse, and advocate for each other. I envision the continued pursuit of a more perfect union, and the celebration and preservation of one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. SC

I'm going to tell you this as simply and gently as I know how. The 2025 project is not a revolution; it is an insurrection. It's a domestic, homegrown assault on America, our democracy, our institutions, and everything good that America and our time-honored institutions represent. The election of Donald Trump would be the lynchpin for the goosestepping march of the alt-right in an all-out attack on democracy and everything most Americans hold dear.
