Meanwhile, back in the Ozarks,
the first frost of the season and a return to more pleasant temperatures has
ushered in Indian summer, undoubtedly my favorite variety of summer. Reservoir Hill is presenting a more flattering
shade of green, the pond, refreshed by recent showers, reflects a vivid blue Ozark
sky, and severe thunderstorms are forecast to enliven the weekend. Next week I am scheduled to go, once again,
under the knife. This time it’s only a
garden variety hernia surgery, and I’m expected to live. Nonetheless, if you’re inclined to pray, please
put in a good word for me.
